Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, Chris Forsgren began his musical background at the age of six, and went on to study piano performance and composition at the specialist music school The Junior Academy in Stockholm. He always liked the idea of creating something entirely his own, and have other people perform it. The Pirates of the Carribbean franchise sparked his interest in film scoring, and went on to study music composition at UCLA, under the mentorship of Bruce Broughton. During his four years at UCLA, Chris worked as a freelance composer scoring several graduate thesis films. Upon graduating, Chris interned at Sonic Fuel Studios, immediately landing him a job scoring for motion picture and games.
While at Sonic Fuel, Chris has scored over six full-length feature films for Lifetime and Hallmark, including Sun, Sand & Romance, Love at the Shore, Hidden Truth, and Marriage of Lies. He has also contributed with music to games such as XCOM 2, Total War: Warhammer, and worked on major TV and film projects such as Lethal Weapon, Supernatural, Norsemen, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. In 2016, Chris became involved in a series of box office movies (xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Power Rangers, Fate of the Furious, and The Mummy), working for Brian Tyler. Since then, Chris has been writing additional music on TV shows like FOX’s Lethal Weapon with Robert Lydecker, Netflix’s Lost in Space with Christopher Lennertz and NBC’s Blindspot with Blake Neely and Sherri Chung. In addition to working alongside these talented composers, Chris continues to develop his own unique sound by working on personal projects in his down time.
